The history of human dress, in a sense, is the history of human civilization. Costumes not only fulfill a practical purpose, but also reflect the cultural development of society in which they evolve. Today, 3 sets of meticulously selected costumes, including traditional Chinese costumes, semi-traditional costumes, and 2009 spring casual wear are proudly presented by New Moon Fashion Club!

The current-defined traditional Chinese costumes were dresses popular in the 1920s to 1940s of China. Semi-traditional costumes are fusions of traditional styles with modern fashion ideas. More than 20 featuring Chinese dresses will be revealed to the audiences one by one, focusing on their color, pattern, and design used, providing you visual sensation and understanding of Chinese costumes.

Spring evokes a sense of freshness and new beginnings. For 2009 spring fashion, hopeful attitudes are encouraged with lively and bright colors, while sophisticated, grounded hues address the need for stability in times of economic uncertainty.

Costume Donation Program: Pledge for Chinese Traditional/Semi-traditional Clothing donation

Dear friends/sponsors,

New Moon Fashion Club (NMFC) is a not-for-profit organization, dedicating to promote healthy life style and enhance Asian-Amiercan cross cultural understanding. Club members/models are amateurs with passion for fashion. Most of the models are in-school students. Club committee members are all volunteers.

In order to stage quality fashion shows, club launched this Costume Donation Program. We are looking for Chinese traditional/semi-traditional clothing specifically, for men, women, or kids. Your support will help us present colorful shows to our community.

You can help us in three ways:
First, please join our lender pool by providing us with your contact information including your name, email, phone number, and pix of clothing. We will contact you for lending if your clothing is selected for shows. All lent costume will be cleaned and returned properly after shows.
Second, please donate your clothing to NMFC in case you have a piece or two no longer being used.

Third, donate money for costume purchasing.

All contributions will be acknowledged on the NMFC web site and during a show. Donations are tax deductable.

For your donations, please contact club costume specialist: Wenmei Shi at Wenmshi@yahoo.com or Xin Chen at xinmiss@hotmail.com

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,
New Moon Fashion Club Committee
